Mason Porterville is a reporter for the NBC Nebraska News 2 team.
A native of Lincoln, Mason graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
As a student, Mason gained valuable experience writing for the student ran newspaper the Daily Nebraskan and finished his amateur career helping out his fellow students produce the student ran newscast Star City News.
He interned with KLKN-TV in Lincoln while simultaneously working as a student producer with NET-TV. During his internship, Mason learned how to cover local sports, put together news packages and developed his passion for journalism and local news reporting.
Outside of work, you may catch Mason golfing, playing basketball at the rec or lifting weights at Nebraska Athletic Club. His favorite types of stories deal with social issues and human interests.
