Kids celebrate NEBRASKAland DAYS with parade

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-- At the Westfield Shopping Center, Wednesday morning was all about the kids. Youngsters of all ages wore their best costume for the NEBRASKAland DAYS Kids Costume Parade.

Kids say that the parade is an exciting event, as they get to dress up.

"We're supposed to be 1970s groovy people and everybody has a bandana or flower and the fourth and fifth graders got glasses," ten-year-old Kyle Wyman said about her group from Kids Klub attending the parade.

Wyman and others enjoy the parade for the giveaways, as well as furry friends they meet along the way.

"I've been here about four times and there are a lot of dogs here," ten-year-old Harley Nicola said. "I get to be with Kids Club and do it."

The parade would not be complete without an appearance from rodeo royalty, the newly crowned Miss Nebraska, and the North Platte High School cheerleaders.
