A 90-year old World War One veteran is hopping on his Harley and traveling the country bringing his message to thousands of people along the way. Dr. Bruce Heilman made a stop in North Platte on Tuesday.

Heilman's Nebraska leg of the journey is being done with the help of the American Legion Riders. One of he big issues Heilman wants to bring awareness to is those who have lost loved ones in battle. He says many men and women have given their lives for this country and that should be recognized.

Dr. Bruce Heilman says, "I'm representing the good will toward all veterans to let everybody be aware that it is the strength of the veterans and their service that gives our country the highlight strength to any country in the world."

Heilman will conclude his trip in Richmond, Virginia on May 25th. He served as chancellor of the University of Richmond for 30 years.
