KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A Kearney man will spend at least 12 years in prison for felony robbery in connection with last year's Motel 6 robbery case.
Elwood Furrowh, 49, of Kearney, was convicted in January and sentenced Thursday to 12 to 24 years in prison.
The robbery happened about 7:00 a.m. August 30, 2017, at the Motel 6 on Talmadge Street in south Kearney
Court records indicate that Furrowh spent some time that morning in the Motel 6 lobby. Police say he eventually held a knife to the desk clerk's throat and demanded money. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police later recovered a money bag near the Kearney Cinema 8. They arrested Furrowh later that day near a Kearney convenience store.
