North Platte, Neb. (KNOP) - Funded by a grant through the school's foundation, the Cozad Public Schools offers a two day learning experience for students - above and beyond the traditional classes offered.
This year's event is the fourth year this has been offered to students. Each student is allowed to pick from a list of classes which interest them - from dog training to car maintenance. Sixty different classes are available from which to choose.
The class change from the normal schedule runs two days. The classes are taught by volunteers - teachers, and people from the community.
Students reported being very happy about the classes, and getting the opportunity to learn things they might not have otherwise had a chance to learn. Plus, some said, it is a nice break from English and Math classes.
And the teachers volunteering enjoy it too.
