Cozad man stabbed; injured in domestic assault by wife police say

COZAD, Neb. (KNOP) -- A Cozad man is recovering after being stabbed in the shoulder early Sunday morning.

According to the Cozad Police Department, officers "responded to a report of an assault involving weapons in the 200 block of west 10th street" at 1:45 am on Sunday.

Police found Justin Morrison, 29, laying on the ground with a knife dug into his left shoulder. He told police that his wife, Dimon L. Morrison, 32, stabbed him during an "altercation."

Both of them were taken to Cozad Community Hospital for their injuries. But Justin was later taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Then, Dimon was taken to the Dawson County Jail. She is charged with First Degree Domestic Assault and the use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The Cozad Police Department said the investigation continues.
