Medicap drug suspect now charged with Valley pharmacy thefts

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) Kearney authorities have connected a string of five drug store break-ins earlier this year to one man.

Jal Thong, 26, of Kearney, was arrested in June for burglary and possession of a controlled substance for a break-in at Medi-Cap pharmacy. He's now also charged with three break-ins at Valley pharmacy and one at ABC drug.

The break-ins at Valley pharmacy were reported May second and 15th, and on June third. The ABC Drug break-in happened May 19th. The Medi-Cap break-in was reported June 25th. In each case, numerous prescription drug pills were stolen.

Thong faces a total of five charges of felony burglary and one count of felony drug possession. If convicted on all six counts, Thong could get over 100 years in prison.

His next court date is later this month.
