Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful awards

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.- Four people received awards Tuesday for their volunteerism throughout Lincoln County.

Bob and Elaine Black, Roger Hengen and Matthew Woodward were recognized for their years of service and dedication to keeping areas in Lincoln County beautiful through the Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful program.

These award recipients picked up trash, helped boy scouts and even cleaned up rivers. Matthew Woodward was the youngest volunteer to receive an award.

"I think it's important because I'm showing others that everyone can volunteer, no matter how young you are," said Woodward.

The Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful Organization relies on their volunteers to keep roadways clean, weed the community garden and other various projects.
