NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-- The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners held a closed session meeting on Monday morning to discuss ways of possibly strengthening security at the courthouse.

The Commissioners met with representatives from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Cameras were not allowed in the room during the meeting. Lincoln County Commissioner Joe Hewgley explained why he could not provide much additional information.

"What happens in (a) closed session, stays in (a) closed session and for a good reason," Commissioner Hewgley said. "The discussion was about courthouse security and it's just a matter we are looking into."

Hewgley would not comment on how far along the discussions are or how serious the talk was. He also would not say what the next step in the process it could be.
