North Platte, Neb. (KNOP) - When parents, school faculty, and students work together - there is a better chance for success. And that is the approach and intention of the Lincoln Elementary School in North Platte.
Every Tuesday the school hosts a breakfast for students to spend time with their parents or another significant adult. Principal Matt Irish said that the school wants the students to have quality time with their children.
"Too many times they're rushed off to work - getting kids to school . So they get to start one day a week enjoying breakfast with their child. The children share something about what they've learned - a piece of writing or how they can read. It's an opportunity to give some parents some parenting advice, too."
