North Platte High School car wash fundraiser

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.- The North Platte High School Student Council was out in the sun washing cars Tuesday afternoon to raise money for school activities.

Students traded in some of the summer vacation time for service in the sun.
Student Council President Jenna Hoover said the money raised was going to events already in place like the Make-A-Wish 5k Run and Powder Puff Football. Hoover says she also has some new ideas in the works she hopes they can execute this year.

"I think it's very important to invest in your community and what you're doing because it benefits not only yourself, but also your neighbor and I think it's important to care for one another when you live in a small town especially like North Platte," said Hoover.
