NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - UPDATE: The City of North Platte declares a snow emergency issued effective January 10, 2018 at 9:30 p.m. until further notice.
The City of North Platte is declaring a local Snow Alert to begin at 7 a.m. on January 10.
This means weather conditions are favorable for a heavy snowfall, and it will usually be used prior to the more serious Snow Emergency.
The purpose of a Snow Alert is to give people more advance warning to move their cars from snow routes before conditions require the North Platte 911 Center to active the Snow Emergency.
