Sutherland HS student signs modeling contract

SUTHERLAND, Neb. Sutherland High School senior Sydney White has signed a contract with 10 Management Modeling Agency in Chicago.

White has only been modeling for Hirschfeld's Prom Shoppe for nearly three years and has done a few modeling shows with her mother agent, Robin Gifford of Springboard Models in Lincoln for bridal, prom and pageant dress designer Rachel Allan.

But it wasn't until recently when she caught the eye of an agent while competing in a model and talent competition in Chicago last November.

Sydney says after the competition, she got callbacks from fifteen modeling agencies.

"Really just chase your dreams, it doesn't really matter what people are going to say about you," White said. "Chase your dreams, go after what you want and don't let other people stop you."

Sutherland High School Principal Dustin Mitchell believes Sydney is their first student to ever sign a modeling contract.

"It is about chance, taking risks and we want students to take risks," said Mitchell. "I think this is one that will pay off for Sydney and this will take her places that maybe she wouldn't go otherwise. We are just really happy for her."

After she graduates in May, Sydney will go back to Chicago and begin photoshoots with 10 Management.
