Train cars derail in Thedford

THEDFORD, Neb. Several train cars derailed in Thedford around 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning. This photo was sent to News 2 by Chelsey Eng.

Thomas County Sheriff, Gary Eng, said about twelve Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway train cars derailed.

It happened on the south side of Thedford near the fire hall.

Sheriff Eng said no injuries have been reported, and train traffic has been shut down from Alliance to Lincoln.

He said they hope to be up and running by Friday morning, and they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
