Love My Cat Month Helps Thousands of Animals in Western Nebraska

By  |

North Platte, NE This month, a local group is trying to tackle cat over population, one animal at a time.

During love my cat month, Veterinary Clinics make spaying and neutering affordable for Western Nebraska families.

Pawsitive Partners gives families the opportunity to spay and neuter their cats for $25 in February.

This is all to help control overpopulation in the community, and so far, it's been a big success!

"We have now fixed almost 3,000 cats so if you were to multiply it, that's a lot of cats that we have prevented from being on the streets," says Amanda Marquette of Pawsitive Partners.

In order to participate in love my cat, persons are asked to call Deb Miyake at 308-520-9603 or Amanda Marquette at 308-534-3186, to get a pet ID number.

After that, the cat's appointment can be scheduled at any veterinary clinic in North Platte or Sutherland.

Love my cat is only for the month of February and appointments will fill up fast, so pet owners are encouraged to call soon.

This year residents of Brady have an additional incentive that can be used in conjunction with love my cat.

With proof of sterilization, the Village of Brady will reimburse a pet owner $25 for spaying or neutering, up to 4 animals per year.

Contact the Village Clerk, Erin Anderson, for further details and to take advantage of this incentive program.
