Family is reporting on Facebook that 5-year-old Leyha Bartels died overnight.

The 5 year-old girl from North Platte was born with Turner Syndrome, a genetic condition in which females lack the usual pair of double X chromosomes.

Then in 2009, doctors discovered a tumor in her stomach.

She was eventually diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.

The little girl was treated in Cincinnati and in Omaha.

The community of Brady held a fundraiser for her last Sunday.

That's when her Grandmother told us Leyha recently underwent surgery to remove a lesion from her spine and lost the feeling in her legs, except for her toes.

She was currently in Omaha at the Children's Hospital in physical therapy after that operation.

But she just recently returned home.

Our condolences to Leyha's family.

Leyha's uncle, Danny Stewart, wrote a song for Leyha.
