A small business in a little town is making a big name for itself for their ideas and innovation.

Welcome to Benkelman, Nebraska. A town of a little more than 1000 people, but it's from this little town that a big idea has sprung up.

"Well we do dog braces... legs, not teeth. In human medicine we brace people after surgeries, so they can get back to life quicker and so we're phasing over to that in veterinary medicine,” says Ben Blecha, Founder / Orthotist.

Ace Ortho Solutions is veterinary manufacturer focusing on orthopedic devices for animals. Designing innovative products like this ACL brace for Dogs.

"When I grow up, when a dog was a sick it was usually time to put it down, and now those days are gone,” says Blecha.

What started with plaster casts and vacuum sealing will soon be involved with the latest technology, three dimensional scanning and printing that will cut production time by more than half.

"Technology is a wonderful thing, and we want to incorporate 3-D modeling to take production time from six hours to maybe 15 minutes,” says Blecha.

Because of Ben's passion and innovative ideas, Ace Ortho Solutions has been chosen to participate in a nationally recognized year-long program called Pipeline designed to accelerate the growth of high performance entrepreneurs.

"Pipeline, they bring in another element of me being able to scale hi-tech and do large business. It's really exciting to me to be able to do that here in Southwest Nebraska and bring that skill set that Pipeline is teaching me to Southwest Nebraska to help our economy,” says Blecha.

Ben and Ace Ortho Solutions are proving that they have what it takes to be top dog, and the next generation of business leaders in southwest Nebraska.

"To me, I want people to understand that you can do this and a town of 1000 people and the resources are there. Everything that you can do in the city we can do here. The Internet has made the world a very small place,” says Blecha.
