Slightly Cooler with a Chance of Rain
Temperatures were well above normal because of overcast skies, high humidity and southerly winds for the first part of our Sunday and then mostly clear skies and westerly winds for the second part of the day.
Mid 60's by Sunrise tomorrow for Labor Day
82 by Noontime in Lincoln county
Lower 80's for Sunset area wide
A 20% chance of an isolated showers for Monday across our area, more likely across our south eastern counties than in Lincoln county, but a chance still exists as unstable air is circulated in from the South meeting cold dry air from the North.
Extreme Heat Continues!
Triple Digits area wide with breezy, windy, and extremely hot conditions, thanks to Southwesterly Flow, Clear Skies and Relentless Sunshine.
This pattern is a result of High Pressure being in charge of our weather and we won't see a break until we get closer to the weekend.
Hot air rises at the outside of the system, is pulled back in and then pushed back down to the surface, this pattern becomes self–perpetuating
Temperature wise we will be at 85 at Sunset here in North Platte, Upper 80's across our western counties
Upper 50's and lower 60's Overnight
Noontime Tomorrow Hot Again In the upper 80's and lower 90's
Daytime highs for Thursday will be in the upper 90's and lower 100's
Hot, Dry & Windy
Temperatures soared into the triple digits across Greater Nebraska, and as a result Red Flag Warnings have popped up across most of the region. Very dry, hot and windy conditions will prevail for a few more hours. Evening will offer some relief and be a bit more pleasant, but it will be midnight or later before we get into the lower 70s as hot air continues to be circulated in from the Desert South and Southwest
Sunset tonight: Upper 80s
Overnight: Lower 60s
Noontime Wednesday: Upper 80s
A Couple of Hot Days, then a Cool Down
Temperatures will shoot up into the Mid 90's for Tuesday with some humidity from the South East which will make it feel like the lower 100's
Chance of Rain pops up in the later part of the day Tuesday and will stay in the forecast overnight into Wednesday morning
Conditions improve Thursday with temperatures dropping into the Mid 70's which will be a welcome change for us here in Greater Nebraska
Another chance of rain comes into the forecast on Friday overnight, rain fall will be in isolated areas and light
Temperatures will come back up as we get int the first part of the weekend, but still pleasant in the lower 80's
Cool Down on the Way with a 30% Chance of Rain
Cold front going to push through Northern Nebraska tonight and tomorrow which will bring the fire weather concerns down considerably
Very warm conditions will persist but we do have a 30% chance of rain for Wednesday that will be triggered by the cold front that will come through
Conditions will improve for the northern counties of central Nebraska first as the front moves into Cherry, Keya Paha and Brown counties late tonight
Wednesday afternoon the cool air and higher humidity will make it's way into Lincoln county
Temperatures for the week will be in the 90's which is a welcome change to the triple digits we have experienced for the past 10 days or so
Chance of showers and thundershowers will hold at 30%, rain could be heavy in some locations with wind gusts and lightning the main threat
Showers will be isolated and generally short lived
Seasonal Condition are a Welcome Change
