Cozad man dies at Johnson Lake

COZAD, Neb. (KNOP) - The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office says 38 year old Juan Gonzalez was driving north on Johnson Lake Drive when he drove through a bridge guard rail at the outlet bridge and went into the lake.

Witnesses nearby called 911 around 9 pm.

First responders and Lexington’s Dive and Rescue were able to locate the 2006 Jeep quickly.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.

Law enforcement are still waiting for blood alcohol content results.

The Nebraska State Patrol, Dawson County Sheriff’s Office as well at Johnson Lake EMS and Elwood Fire and Rescue assisted in the accident.
