Relay For Life goes virtual
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Relay For Life is doing what they can to continue to fund cancer research and show support for survivors.
“They’re really hurting for their funds for their cancer research and for the different things that they’re involved with, with the money that they get. And so it’s really important that we still continue to do something to get what we can to help them out,” said Lori Tobiasson, the Relay For Life Event Chairman.
The pandemic has caused them to postpone their May 30th relay to July 11th. This event will be virtual. All of July they will be having virtual events through their Facebook Page Relay For Life of the Plains. From July 1st to July 31st there will be multiple events taking place. All leading up to their Luminary Ceremony July 31st at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
“We’re pretty excited this is just a nice way to be able to honor all of our cancer survivors,” said Nan Hynes, the Relay For Life Co-Event Planner.
Luminary bags are for sale for ten dollars to honor cancer survivors or in memory of those who have passed. To contact them about bag purchases and to keep up with future events go to their Facebook page Relay for Life of the Plains.
