$350,000 loan approved for NEBRASKAland Days
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - COVID-19 has affected many, and NEBRASKAland days is doing what they can to recover from the financial loss from this year’s cancellation. The City Council approved a recommendation by the Quality Growth Fund Citizens Advisory Committee for a requested loan of $350,000 for NEBRASKAland days. These funds are set at a 3.25 percent interest rate effective through December 31, 2021.
NEBRASKAland days Executive Director David Fudge said these funds will be a safety net he hopes won’t be used.
“It’s a new worst case scenario definition and we were’t really prepared for that. We were prepared for a bad year but not one that was just gone. The festival is far too important to the city’s economy to risk not having an emergency safety net in play and that’s exactly what the city allowed us to do tonight,” said Fudge.
Their goal is to have some events in August. NEBRASKAland Days plans to keep the public informed on what those events may look like.
