NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The North Platte FNBO Nationals faced Hastings Five Points for a doubleheader on Wednesday.

The Nationals did not pose a threat for much of game one, with just one hit through six innings, but started threatening in the seventh inning. A Derrick Kuhlmann RBI single, Tate Janas bases loaded walk, and Carter Johnson RBI fielder’s choice made the score 6-3, but that was as close as the Nationals would get.

In game two, the Nationals scored a run in the top of the first, but the Five Points scored five runs in the first two innings. Again, the Nationals threatened in the last frame, scoring four runs, but they fell 7-5.

The Nationals are now 17-6 on the season, and return to the field Saturday, playing Millard North in Kearney.
