NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The 42nd annual West Nebraska All-Star Football Game, and 36th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game will be played in Scottsbluff on Friday, July 24.

Wednesday, players participating in the game met with members of the media, and several local athletes shared their thoughts on the game.

“I think it’s going to be really fun,” said St. Pat’s volleyball players Kinsey Skillstad. “All these girls are really amazing athletes, so I’m really excited to play with them.”

“It’s good to get back at it just one more time, since we didn’t have that [spring] season,” said Ogallala volleyball player Jaedy Commins.

“It really means a lot and I know it means a lot to these guys. It’s just a great experience to get out here and have with these guys,” said Ogallala football player Alex Patrick.

“It’s pretty exciting,” said North Platte football player Dalton Caley. “It’s kind of my last hurrah, so it’s something I have been looking forward to for a while. I’m a competitive person, so I like to play to win.”

“It’s definitely competitive, there’s already been some smack talk between the teams. It’s going to be competitive, but it’s just really fun being out here and playing with a lot of guys,” said St. Pat’s football player Charles Aufdenkamp.

The volleyball game will be held 4 p.m. MDT at WNCC Cougar Palace, and the football game will be 7 p.m. MDT at Bearcat Stadium.
