Extreme trail clinic and challenge cancelled this year
The 3rd Annual Extreme Trail Clinic and Challenge was set to take place August 1 at the Buffalo Bill Arena.
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -Another event has been affected by the Coronavirus so they are holding-off hosting it until next year.
The 3rd Annual Extreme Trail Clinic and Challenge, put on by the Velvet Spurs, was set to take place August 1 at the Buffalo Bill Arena.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, participant entries were coming in lower and the committee made the decision Thursday night to cancel and resume the events next year.
Organizer Jean Tobiasson said they will try again for next year.
“People sometimes have their plans already made months in advance for vacation so throwing it into August instead of having it in June when we normally do our thing for a fundraiser we came to the decision last night at our club meeting that there was just too many things against us and rather than be rushed and not put on a quality show we’d cancel for this year and try it again next year.”
Tobiasson spoke highly of the group saying her husband first gave her the idea to join the Velvet Spurs and has since found a sense of community with the group.
“He says, ‘well I need to introduce you to a group of ladies that likes horses that would give you somebody with common interests’ and he has rued the day ever sense because he says I spend more time with the velvet spurs in the summer than I do with him but they are a great group of ladies,” said Tobiasson.
