NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Upper level energy moving across Nebraska tonight through Friday is giving us high chances for thunderstorms and showers. Wednesday evening, severe thunderstorms are possible with damaging winds and hail possible. These storm systems will be moving slowly which could give us high rainfall amounts. Localized flooding will be our main threat with these storms Wednesday evening.

Temperatures will be cooler than average for the rest of this week since we will have more cloud cover and rainfall. Thursday’s highs will only reach the upper 70s and Friday we will struggle to make it into the mid 80s.

This weekend’s weather will be overall very nice with highs in the mid 80s on Saturday and sunny skies. There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms likely Sunday afternoon and highs will only be in the upper 70s.
