NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Scattered rain showers will continue across the state today. Expect on and off rain throughout the day with an occasional thunderstorm. Some minor flooding will be possible along the southern parts of the area where heavy rain fell yesterday and more steady rain is excepted through our Thursday but severe weather is not a concern with today’s rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be unseasonably cool, topping out in the upper 70s, about 10 degrees below average. Rain will linger through the evening but come to an end overnight with mostly sunny skies in store for Friday. Temperatures should rebound back into the mid 80s to end the work week.

Mild to below average temperatures continue into the weekend as highs top out in the upper 70s to mid 80s Saturday and Sunday. There will be plentiful sunshine and overall is should be a great weekend to get outdoors, but we will hang onto small chances for afternoon or evening thunderstorms both days. Widespread storms are not expected, but if you do have outdoor plans, make sure to keep an eye on the forecast.
