Comfortable, Drier Weather Leads US To The Weekend..
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The rainy weather that brought 1 to 3 inch rainfalls over parts of the Greater Nebraska area, will transition to drier, comfortable conditions leading into the weekend. Much of Western Nebraska will enjoy sunshine with temperatures in the low to mid 80s. The Panhandle may see the development of some scattered instability showers ahead of an approaching cold front Friday afternoon, but that activity should fade by the early evening.
A weak northerly flow of winds will keep temperatures below normal through the weekend with Saturday’s highs climbing into the lower 80s, then cooling into the 70s on Sunday. The weekend is expected to be mainly dry with only slight chances for isolated pop up thunderstorms. The drier condition will continue into early next week before warm, moist southerly winds return by midweek, laying the groundwork for a periods of scattered thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Temperatures will be headed for the lower 80s by Thursday.
