Mild and mainly dry through the weekend
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - High pressure takes control of our weather as we head into the weekend, leading to more sunshine and mild temperatures over the next few days.
Following the rain the last few days, we could see some patchy fog this morning thanks to the excess moisture in the region. In low lying areas where fog is more common there may be some areas of dense fog. Take it slow with this in mind early Friday. Fog should begin to clear quickly, only lingering into the mid morning hours with skies becoming mostly sunny for the remainder of our Friday. Mostly sunny skies and mainly dry conditions continue into the weekend with only very isolated chances for a shower or two.
A weak northerly wind flows will help to keep temperatures below normal through the weekend with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s The weekend is expected to be mainly dry with only slight chances for isolated pop up thunderstorms. The drier condition will continue into early next week before warm, moist southerly winds return by midweek, laying the groundwork for a periods of scattered thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Temperatures will be headed for the lower 80s by Thursday.
