NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - It’s a bit of a drive from, well, anywhere, but the women who have come together to create “The Jewel” know it is “worth the trip.” More importantly, their new business is a real gem for their small community.

On Saturday the efforts of six women were seen by the small town of Stratton. The new shops are having their Grand Openings throughout the day. The Jewel is a lovely restored building on the edge of Stratton on Highway 34, 34 miles west of McCook.

Inside you’ll find the wonderful smells artisan soaps from Broken Bow, unique decor, hand made items, and “re-imagined” furniture, but that’s just the start. There is also a clothing boutique called “Gaby Ann;” a massage therapy studio, by a licensed massage therapist; the “Hair Barn,” for hair cuts and services for men, women and children, manicures and pedicures, and eyelash extensions, plus other services; and “Tuesday’s Kitchen” offering fresh treats from cinnamon rolls to homemade bread and many other specialty treats on site or to order.

These women, Ronnie Richardson, Lisa Faimon, Shelby Zoltenko, Mya McCorkle, Tuesday Forch, and Hillary Dannatt, LMT are anxious to start serving their community, and beyond.

Richardson is well-known for her creations. In 2019 she sold three pickup-beds full, and three horse trailers full of “re-imagined” furniture at the Nebraska Junk Jaunt.
