NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The 2020 North Platte Pow Wow held its second of three days on Saturday at Scout’s Rest Ranch.

The goal of the event is to bring the education of Native American culture to North Platte. The main attraction for the event is the dance competition, which features tradition Native American dances.

“This is a place to learn more about one another, so this gathering today, and the dance of it, we’re all here to enjoy ourselves, share our way of life,” said event announcer Frank Jamerson, who is from the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation. “I’ve been asking, and been reaching out to some in the public to share their ways, ask questions, don’t be afraid, because it’s educational. Part of this gathering is kind of to educate individuals and share our way of life.”

The event continues Sunday, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
