Staying hot and a bit humid on Thursday
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Increasing temperatures headline the forecast for the next few days as a ridge of high pressure builds into the area, allowing temperatures to reach the mid 90s by the upcoming weekend. Northwest flow aloft will continue to bring weak waves through the area which will continue to keep rain chances in the forecast almost every day over the next week.
Thursday, mostly sunny and warm conditions are expected for most of the coverage area as temperatures once again are set to return to the upper 80s to low 90s.

Humid conditions are also expected as south and southeast winds continue to pump moisture into the region. Look for dew points likely sitting in the mid to upper 60s across western Nebraska with a south winds at 10 to 20 MPH. There will again be a small chance for some showers and storms Thursday evening as a weak wave aloft moves through the area.
Temperatures are then set to sit in the low to mid 90s for Friday into the weekend with mainly dry weather as the ridge of high pressure builds into the area, but there will be some small, scattered rain chances through the weekend as weak disturbances move over the top of the ridge.
