NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A cold front is currently passing through our area and cooling us off. Relief from the hot and humid weather is on the way for the next couple of days. The front should be through Nebraska in the early morning hours on Monday. Our temperatures will only make it into the lower 80s by the early evening. Skies should be mostly clear all day on Monday giving us the perfect weather for anyone who works outside. Severe weather is not a major threat at this moment in time, but continue to stay weather aware because the weather is always changing.

Tuesday will be warmer than we were on Monday with temperatures making it into the upper 80s. There could also be a chance for some thunderstorms in the evening hours. A warm front will begin moving through the area in the evening which will warm us back up into the low 90s Wednesday through Thursday. These days will be our best chances for some thunderstorms as the heat is a key factor in their formation. But, at this moment in time, the threat of these storms remain very low.

Saturday and Sunday will bring us cooler weather making it a perfect weekend for outdoor activities. The highs for this coming weekend will be in the mid 80s with mostly clear skies.
