North Platte Activities announces spectator guidelines for week of Aug. 17
Only immediate family members will be allowed at contests and masks will be required.
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The North Platte High School Activities Office announced on Twitter Monday the spectator guidelines for the week of Aug. 17.
Immediate family members only will be allowed for competing athletes. This includes parents or guardians, siblings, spouses, grandparents, and others living in the same household.
Tickets will be virtual. Links to tickets will be provided to parents/guardians by the team’s head coach.
Digital programs will be available for contests, through the NPHS Activities website. QR codes will be provided at games for programs on mobile devices.
Masks will be required for attendance.
Social distancing will be guided by pre-determined seating areas.
North Platte Activities Director Jordan Cudney said multiple factors went into setting guidelines, including the Community Risk Dial, NSAA guidelines, and conversations with other Nebraska school districts, and the intention is to provide an update to guidelines each week, even if the update is that guidelines are the same one week as they were the week prior.
Cudney said these guidelines are being put in place to start the season because it is “easier to start smaller, and open it up than it is to start open, and have to reign it in.”
Home-varsity contests will be live-streamed in conjunction with KOOQ 98.1, and sub-varsity events will be streamed on the NPHS Activities YouTube channel.
