Pigskin Preview: Paxton Tigers
Tigers make their debut in 6-man football
PAXTON, Neb. (KNOP) -
This season, the Paxton Tigers football program will be making its debut in 6-man football, after having been an 8-man team in the past.
“I think we’re pretty ready, we’ve been doing a lot of work this year during practice just trying to prepare for a different season,” said senior Keegan Schow.
Head coach Scott Jorgensen acknowledged that the change from 8-man to 6-man has been an adjustment for both the players and the coaches. He also feels the speed that the team has will play a big role in how they run their offense.
“We’ve got some really good lineman that can get out and that can move and get blocks five yards downfield. Our biggest thing is going to be our speed to carry us throughout the year,” said Jorgensen.
Senior Dane Storer echoed similar statements in how the speed that this team has will benefit them with the quick tempo that comes with 6-man football.
“We got many, many things going for us, speed is one of them. We can easily just get to the outside and beat some teams on the inside or outside,” said Storer.
