Walk to end Alzheimer’s looks a little different this year
Walking for a cure
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Usually in the fall of the year, the Cody Park pavilion is filled with passionate walkers who are praying for a cure to Alzheimer’s. In a year of a pandemic, things are looking a little different. This walk is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide. There is no fee to walk, however participants are encouraged to raise funds to help advance the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.
There’s an August challenge happening right now. If you raise at least $100 by August 31st you will receive your 2020 Walk t-shirt and free ice cream from Runza. But most importantly, you will be helping the thousands who are affected by this disease without a cure
This year the walk is taking place everywhere on every sidewalk, track, or trail. The 2020 Walk will take place on September 27th from your own neighborhood. There will be a virtual ceremony broadcast at 1:45 p.m. with the walk beginning at 2:00 p.m.
If you are interested in participating in the walk, then go to the Alzheimer’s website to register.
