NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -46-year old Eugene Richter of North Platte was arrested Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. on a warrant for “Stalking.”

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) is reporting they got information of Richter in the area of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte. Richter was found, arrested and handcuffed.

The LCSD conducted a search during the arrest, discovering a concealed .9 mm pistol and several magazines.

Richter was inside of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at the time of his arrest.

Richter did not have an active concealed carry permit, plus he has an active protection order against him, which prohibits him from having a firearm.

Richter was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and faces the following charges:

Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Prohibited Place, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Possession of a Firearm during a Felony.

The LCSD says deputies learned information Richter may have additional firearms and weapons at his residence. They were issued a search warrant for Richter’s residence. The deputies executed the search warrant 11:50 a.m. on September 15. Numerous firearms and concealed weapons were located in Richter’s home and vehicles. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges will follow.
