NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - More of the same is expected into the day on Friday as we’ll finish the week with warm, hazy weather.

More sunny - but hazy - conditions are expected Friday with highs in the upper 70s to upper 80s.

While skies are expected to be mainly sunny through the day on Friday, wildfire smoke across the area will likely keep skies milky instead of blue. The smoke will likely keep temperatures a degree or two cooler than they’d otherwise be. Temperatures by Friday afternoon should reach the upper 70s to upper 80s across western Nebraska.

Sunny, warm, and breezy weather is expected into the upcoming weekend. Temperatures will likely top out in the mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday in North Platte - but again, some hazy conditions are expected to continue. Our next chance for rain likely doesn’t arrive until Sunday night and into early Monday morning with a 20% chance for showers and t’storms across the coverage area.

Much of next week looks to be warm and dry as a ridge of high pressure headlines the forecast. Temperatures are expected to continue to stay in the 80s with mainly sunny and dry weather expected.
