NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The forecast over the next few days will be feeling like summer as temperatures continue to run well above average for many of us across the state. Highs on Friday set to reach the low 80s to low 90s from north south as a weak cold front is expected to swing through the state with more hazy sunshine expected.

Highs into the 80s to near 90° are expected to finish the week on Friday.

We’ll start the weekend with more warm weather as highs on Saturday are expected to once again reach the upper 80s to low 90s with breezy winds expected and more dry conditions.

After Saturday, temperatures are expected to change dramatically as two rounds of cooler air are expected to push into the region. The first wave will arrive into Sunday as temperatures retreat into the upper 60s to low 70s for the area. Temperatures then fall a few more degrees Wednesday into late next with another push of colder air. Daytime highs for Wednesday and beyond should only reach the low to mid 60s.

By midweek next week, overnight lows could be slipping into the middle 30s, so some areas of frost will be possible in the forecast!
