New archery range open to the public
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - There is now an Archery Range at the Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area. This is North Platte’s first non membership driven archery.
Around a dozen volunteers worked together to measure out targets and build. This outdoor archery range has targets from 10 to 60 yards. It is available to the public. All you need is a Game and Parks sticker to get in, and your own bow. Parking passes range from 25 dollars to 35 dollars a year. Or 6 dollars a day. You can buy these parking passes online on the game and parks website.
Organizers plan to have future leagues and create fun opportunities for the community with this new space.
“It’s really nice for the community and a safe place for people to come to to be able to practice their shooting sports. And they have the land so might as well do it. I’ve been hit up a lot to do archery leagues, you know, in the off season of archery season just being able to have some leagues going on. So I think in the spring we’ll look into getting something going,” said Sports and Events Marketing Specialist, Samantha Geisler.
More information will be posted on playnorthplatte.com with pictures and how to get there.
