NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - An abstract art collection called “Compact Rhythms” is now open at the Prairie Arts Center. The art comes from the Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,

Nebraskaland National Bank and the Art Study League of North Platte have sponsored the show for 22 years.

The exhibition is part of Sheldon Statewide, an annual program to share works from the museum’s collection throughout Nebraska. The Sheldon Statewide Exhibition Series receives funding support from Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Nebraska, Rhonda Seacrest, the Nebraska Arts Council and Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the Sheldon Art Association.

“It’s unique because it’s not your typical art and you have to, at least I, look at the colors I look at the shape arrangements and see just exactly what the artist is trying to portray,” said President of Arts Study League, Margaret Balerud.

This exhibit will be open to the public until October 28th at the Prairie Arts Center.
