NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A peaceful protest against abortion in North Platte Sunday afternoon. Life Chain is organized every year for those for the Right to Life to demonstrate in a peaceful way.

People lined 4th and Jeffers Streets with signs and prayers in an event which displayed their position against abortion.

“For every child that is aborted, there are two parents, two sets of grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles and cousins. It is disrupting our families,” said Peggy Orr, Life Chain event organizer.

The goal of those taking part in the peaceful protest is to remember the 59 million lives lost to abortion, and to lift people up in prayer toward an end to abortion.

“Children should be accepted as gifts not as choices. We stand here in silent prayer to bring to topic of abortion to the public square,” said Orr.
