NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -A North Platte family host a haunted driveway each year to bring the community together and help people battling cancer.

The Foust family has been hosting the haunted driveway for 12 years.

The idea came after many of their friends and families lives have been touched by cancer. As lovers of Halloween and eager to find ways to give back, they partnered with the American Cancer Society.

As they continued to host the haunted driveway, they wanted to extend their hand to people in the North Platte community who may be battling cancer.

Now, partnered with Gift of Hope, the donations help people in Lincoln County.

“It’s not for us. It’s for others. If someone needs to travel to Omaha, the donations will be their gas money,” said Jennifer Foust, member of the haunted driveway team. “I know the money helped put windows in a lady’s house because winter was coming through. This helped her get further in her cancer treatment because she did not have to worry about her windows. It’s all the little things that just get you through.”
