Girls can ‘try out’ Girl Scouts for free
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - This time of the year is usually crucial for girl scout recruitment. But due to COVID-19, the girl scouts have not been able to make any appearances in public schools to gain members.
Even though the pandemic has put a halt on many important events virtually the girls have never been closer. There are tons of virtual meetings and parties happening right now. Virtual Girl Scout troop/ group meetings are happening every other week for members and any girls who are interested in joining.
|Groups||Grades||Meeting Day||Meeting Time|
|Daisies||K-1||Every other Monday||7 p.m|
|Brownies||2-3||Every other Tuesday||7 p.m|
|Juniors||4-5||Every other Monday||7 p.m|
|6-12||Every other Wednesday||7 p.m|
In addition to these group meetings, Girl Scouts also have virtual open houses going on. The open houses take place every Thursday at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Parents can discover the skills that girls learn, ways in which they can participate, and the benefits of being a Girl Scout. Any questions you may have can be answered by staff members on this Zoom video.
If your daughter loves it, joining is a piece of cake. All you have to do is go onto their website to register. All ages are welcome and the membership fee is only $25 annually. Financial assistance is also available if needed.
