NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A 12-year-old North Platte girl died Thursday morning after being air lifted to Omaha with severe injuries after an accident at the intersection of State Farm Road and Highway 83, Tuesday.

Ellie Siegel was a student at St. Patricks in North Platte. Her principal Matt Irish told News 2 donations to assist Siegel’s family can be dropped off at the school.

Irish saying the North Platte Catholic School community is sending out their thoughts and prayers to Siegel’s family and friends.

Irish also says there is a crisis team at the school to help students who are struggling to deal with this tragedy.

The News 2 family is also sending up prayers for those losing Ellie.

A tanker truck and a small passenger car collided around 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the Intersection of State Farm Road and Highway 83.

Officers on scene telling News 2 a car was traveling north on Highway 83 to turn west onto State Farm Road.

So far News 2 is reporting one person from the passenger car has been transported to Great Plains Health with severe injuries. The truck driver is not injured.

As of 11:34 a.m. traffic is moving on Highway 83.
