NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Salvation Army and Santa Cop Christmas Assistance Program is more than underway. In fact, the deadline to call and schedule an appointment with the Salvation army is Thursday October 22 at 3:30 PM. The Salvation Army of North Platte can be reached by phone at 308-532-2038 beginning at 9AM.

“During the days when we’re doing our distribution, just to see the relief and the joy and the excitement on the faces of parents when they’re coming to receive what they’re being blessed with. That kind of makes my Christmas," said Major Harold Poff. The Corps Officer who loves helping people at this time of year also added this message of urgency to the community:

“They need to call as soon as possible and get their appointment made because we are seeing a lot of families this year. We have a lot of appointments made and we don’t want any families left out of that process.”

Again, the deadline to try and schedule an appointment is tomorrow at 3:30 so if you haven’t already, be sure to call by tomorrow afternoon. Appointments will be issued for various times on October 27, 28, and 29. Applicants will need to provide Proof of Residency (Lincoln County, NE); Proof of Income (monthly); Proof of Expenses (monthly.)
