NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - With harvest in full swing, animals are on the move, and anyone who drives rural Nebraska roads knows the danger and frustration of hitting a deer or other wildlife with a vehicle

Public Information Officer from the Nebraska Game and Parks in North Platte Julie Gieser wants people to be safe as Nebraska critters scurry out of fields to find new homes.

People might see animals on the move during and after harvest, such as deer, raccoon, badgers, fox, and coyote, because, according to Gieser, anytime existing cover is removed, such as a tree line or cornfield the animals move “out and find out to find new safe places to live.”

Gieser is hoping people are mindful of the animals, saying they should pay close attention when driving in rural or heavily treed areas.
