Cold air exits as warmer air filters in during a sunny week ahead

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - As is typical, very cold air followed our early season snow storm. For North Platte, the record low for Tuesday was 11° set back in 1925 - and we have broken that record with a low near 8°.

Temperatures will rebound slightly by afternoon though it will still remain WELL below average as highs only reach the 30s to low 40s for most of the area. Skies are expected to be mainly sunny with a southwest winds around 10 MPH.

Temperatures then continue to trend warmer through the rest of the week with highs reaching the 40s, 50s, to low 60s through the remainder of the week and into the weekend. Mainly dry weather is expected over the next 7 days with plenty of sunshine.
