NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Ahead of Election Day tomorrow, we checked in with voters in our community to see how they are feeling about the issues. Of course, the Presidential race is driving voter turnout with many feeling great passion for their respective candidate.

Said one Republican voter of Trump, “He’s truly doing it for the American people, because he loves the United States and what we stand for, he’s been awesome.”

“I just don’t see how someone can support this current administration, we need to bring some decency back into politics,” responded a Biden supporter.

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse is also on the ballot, looking to hold his Senate seat. Sasse has found himself at odds with President Trump at times. Most recently, Trump called him “an embarrassment to the great state of Nebraska” in a tweet. Still, Sasse has been an outspoken supporter of recently confirmed Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

“I’m not really worried about him and Trump fussing at each other as long as they do their work...I think we need to hold the senate, that’s really important, so obviously I will be voting for Ben,” commented a Republican voter regarding the recent war of words between Trump and Sasse.

Nebraska has a long history of voting Republican down ticket. One local Democrat offered his thoughts on why that has been the case:

“The two main issues are The Second Amendment and the abortion issue and people won’t waver from that. They are just going to vote party line and go straight down the ballot.”

We are covering several other races and you can find them by going to or our KNOP News app.
