NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The country awaits the final count of ballots in a handful of battleground states that are likely to determine the Presidential race. Two days after “Election Day” and neither candidate has reached the necessary 270 Electoral Votes to claim the Presidency. Joe Biden is projected to have a sizeable lead but The Trump campaign has already filed several lawsuits in different states.

“I don’t really know how bad it’s going to get or how exactly it will happen, but I hope that The Supreme Court does what it should do...This will definitely end up in the courts,” said one Republican voter regarding the legal battles ahead.

While Democrats and Republicans seem to disagree on plenty surrounding this election, residents of our community on both sides of the political aisle expressed a common theme when speaking with them today.

“I just think we need a lot of prayer for our country right now. It’s scary how divided people are and we shouldn’t be. We should be together," insisted one Trump voter.

“I think that we need to heal. I think there’s way too much division, way too much hate. I think as a nation it’s time we heal," added a Biden supporter.
