Maxwell Veteran’s Memorial decorated for The Holidays
The FCCLA pay their respects in a creative way
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Members of the District 10 Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chose to honor Veterans in a creative way this year.
“This year because of the pandemic we weren’t able to hold a Veteran’s memorial program like we usually do at the school, so we decided to give back in our community in a different way,” said Jett Simpson, FCCLA’s District 10 President.
With Veteran’s Day less than a week away and December next month, the group spent the day decorating The Memorial with Christmas decorations. All of this, because the group has a great respect for veterans.
“We think Veterans in the community are really important to us, especially in this area right here, it’s really nice to be involved and everyone supports each other. It’s a really good feeling,” said Maxwell Student Council Representative Klayton Pagel.
Pagel hopes that the display will be meaningful to all who see it.
“When a nice family drives by and sees this, I think they’ll get a smile on their face and enjoy it.”
The decorations will stay up through the Holiday season.
